JAMB regularization is the process where JAMB requires you to upload or update your higher institution admission details on JAMB’s official portal to enable JAMB to generate and issue an admission letter to legitimate the admission.

Some students get admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics or colleges of education without proper or formal recognition by JAMB. They are required to regularise their details in the JAMB portal to print out a recognised JAMB admission letter. This mostly occurs when candidates are admitted through the part-time, distance learning or direct entry routes other than the usual UTME route. It is also applicable for candidates who do not have a JAMB admission letter and whose names are not in the site’s database; it is also necessary where higher institution admission and JAMB’s admission do not match, and this process makes it easier for students to be called up for NYSC upon graduation.

Jamb Regularization Requirements

There are several things candidates can do on the JAMB regularisation portal.

First of all, log in to your browser and enter this link in your search engine: https://portal.jamb.gov.ng

Once you are in the portal, the following actions can be carried out with ease:

Creation of a profile on the portal

Formal application for JAMB regularisation or registration after admission

Tracking of application status on the portal from your profile

Printing of the original JAMB admission letter and

Resolution of any admission issues, like completion of admission data on the portal.

What are the Requirements for JAMB Regularization?

The following are required from candidates before they can head into the JAMB regularisation portal to carry out any action:

You should create a valid profile on the JAMB portal

Higher institution admission letter

Other admission information such as:

The year you got admitted

The course you were offered for admission

The mode of entry, such as UTME, JUPEB, part-time, etc.

WAEC or NECO original results

One passport photograph on a red or white background

Telephone number

A valid email address

University or polytechnic official matriculation number

The required application fee

JAMB regularisation is required for HND students to enable their mobilisation for the NYSC.

It is also required for direct entry students who entered the university directly into the 200 level or 2nd year without starting from the 100 level, like the other students did. Jamb regularisation is also applicable for students seeking to be mobilised for NYSC after their final year.

When is Jamb Regularization Starting?

This depends on the JAMB’s annual calendar. Mostly between February and August. However, students are advised to periodically check the JAMB portal for updates on regularisation in order to avoid complications with admission or NYSC mobilisation.

To access the JAMB portal, go straight to https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility

Take the steps to regularise JAMB:

Step 1: Go to the correct JAMB portal as displayed above

Step 2: Log in and create your profile correctly

Step 3: Click the Late retroactive application button

Step 4: Fill in the pop-up online form appropriately

Step 5: After filling out the online form, submit it and print

Step 6: Take the printed form to your school and submit for approval

Step 7: Your school will then send your submitted form to the JAMB office within the state virtually

Step 8: Upon approval of the form that you have submitted, you will get a confirmation message, then you should go ahead to print your JAMB admission letter in colour.
