Writing an acknowledgement for a project is one of the simplest yet most important aspects of project research writing.
Acknowledgement is the process of thanking, appreciating, and recognizing people and resources that helped you to complete your research work. These people who assisted you to write and complete your research could be family, friends, lecturers, mentors, a supervisor, or even strangers. Hence, it is required that students mention them and appreciate them for the help they rendered. Sometimes, strangers could help you with research through their books, articles, or any useful publication(s) in the course of writing your project.
In today’s acknowledgement format, it is expected that the student thank the Almighty God for the gift of life and strength to carry out the study, then the student’s Head of Department, who assigned a supervisor, followed by the supervisor who guided him or her throughout the study.
The appreciation to the entire lecturers of the Department, names must be mentioned in accordance with hierarchy, meaning that professors should be mentioned before Associate Professors, then PhD holders, then MSc holders, down to first degree holders. Friends and families can now come in the appreciation note.
