The design of study in research is also known as research design. Design of study is referred to as the method of organizing data collected over some time for a study. This method is adopted by the researchers as a strategy to properly analyze data or information gathered to integrate the data in an organized format to come up with a reasonable output from a study.
Design of Study in Research Example
Below is an example of the design of study in research:
| The design of this study is correlational. The correlational research design is one directed towards determining the nature of the situation as it exists at the time of the study, (Nworgu, 2015). This was because data was collected from a relatively large number of people considered to be representative of the entire group. It comprised Correlational and Expost- facto design. The Correlational and Expost- facto studies design were employed to investigate the relationship that exists between the independent variables (school climate) and dependent variable (students’ academic performance). Correlational studies design is defined as studies design which are aimed at determining the relationship between two or more variables and enabling us to ascertain the extent to which variation in one variable is associated with variations in another (Nworgu, 2015). The latter design which is the Expost facto was used because both the cause and the effect had already occurred while the data involved in the study were as they were, when collected from their sources without any manipulation. This design was adopted because the results of the WAEC and NECO Senior School Certificate Examination already existed. |
