Data needed in research represents the information that a researcher requires to carry out and complete research work. The data that is needed depends on the type of research embarked on, this also has to do with the vastness of the study since broader subjects require more data than a few pages of research. The data needs in research are important because the information gathered will be applied in the data analysis chapter where the essence of the study, and the outcome sort-after are analyzed. Data collection is done through various sources as discussed in this article.
The questionnaire is usually a good instrument for collecting relevant data for any study, hence the importance of first outlining the necessary data that should be reflected in the collection instrument(s). Data needs are essential in research at all levels and must not be toyed with.
What is the need for good data?
Good data provides a researcher with all the necessary information to complete a study. Because research cannot exist without data, good data is needed to validate the research objectives and make the research authentic. In a nutshell, good data is any data that portrays the true and real situation of a problem being researched as a tool for arriving at a reasonable and valid conclusion.
What are the needs for data collection?
Without data collection the research cannot be defendable, hence the solutions proffered could appear questionable. Data helps the researcher measure the subject being studied realistically. Data is needed because it is the life-wire of every research endeavour. Data is as important as the literature review, and of course, secondary data are obtained from the literature review.
What is data need?
Data need as the term implies is a systematic way of arranging the relevant information that a researcher or student needs to justify the subject under study.

The data obtained include:- – Level of awareness of federal government workers on accessibility of funds to support home ownership. – Easy accessibility of funds through the NHF scheme by federal workers. -The role of government policies and regulations in supporting federal government workers, especially in home ownership. -Managerial approach to ease access to NHF. – Need for NHF Desk officers in federal government offices. e. Data on factors responsible for the success or failures of the NHF scheme in Enugu urban. The data collected include:- – Insufficient income of federal workers in Enugu urban. – Cumbersome documentation. – High inflation rate, corruption in high places and non-availability of land for the – Corruption in the system – Inadequate supply of lands for home ownership. – Lack of transparency from the NHF provider. f. Data on possible strategies to access the NHF home for federal government workers in Enugu urban, Enugu state. Nigeria. The data include:- The federal government should provide funds easily to federal civil servants who have keyed into the NHF scheme through the FMBN. |
