1. Always Be Punctual

One of the easiest ways to make your supervisor like you is by always being punctual at every meeting/discussion. Whenever your supervisor calls for reviews, make sure to attend on time. You have to show that you are reliable and attentive to instructions. Doing these things will not only set you on course for good grades, it will enable a strong viable relationship with your supervisor.

2. Communicate Clearly to your supervisor

You should find a way to always carry your project supervisor along. He or she should feel relevant in your thesis/project writing process. From time to time, try to show your supervisor the progress you have made on your project. Always update him, even when you make mistakes, let him correct you. Supervisors often derive joy when they find faults and the need to correct students. They have pride and would do anything to show you that you need them to complete your research, so let them, by allowing them to know every progress you have made, you indirectly show them that you need their validation to continue. Don’t worry, even if their contributions aren’t accurate, you already got their friendship and that’s enough for that stage. You will eventually smile.

You need your supervisor just as they need you. You need them to enable you to complete your work in record time, as they would often have your back during defense. They also need you to score good grades as that will boost their morale and prestige among their colleagues and even enhance their chances of upgrade and promotion within the academia. You need each other, so never think you are doing too much by getting close to your supervisor.
