NOUN University

National Open University also known as NOUN is one of the prestigious universities in Nigeria with thousand of students across the country and at diaspora. Every year students aspire to get admitted into NOUN, this comes with many questions related to the best courses to apply and the requirements to be met for selected courses.
In this article, I have been able to put together all the courses offered by the Open University and the requirements for approval and admission into these various courses. If you read through calmly, I’m sure you will be able to find that your dream course and also know what to do to get that course.
National Open University Courses and Requirements
The NOUN University courses and requirements are highlighted and explained separately for ease of digestion and understanding. The courses offered by the university is outlined in tables while the requirement is explained as well.

National Open University Admission Requirements
In order to make things easy for admission seekers, I have highlighted the admission requirements of National Open University. Take your time to go through them.
- To be able to qualify for admission into National Open University, one has to ensure to meet the following outlined requirement which include among others, the requirement for matriculation that should comprise at the least 5 credit passes in English Language and mathematics. There are courses which accept a pass in Mathematics, such as Art courses among a few others.
- Under the Postgraduate Programmes, to be eligible, you need to have a minimum of a pass in BSc degree from any reputable and recognized university in Nigeria or a Higher National Diploma from an accredited Polytechnic with minimum of a Lower Credit. Postgraduate Diploma in Legislative, it is expected that the candidate must have been called to bar before application.
- Master Degree programmes requires candidate to possess either BSc degree with atleast a second class lower in any relevant field of study from a recognized Univerty in Nigeria.
- PhD programmes requires the possession of an MSc degree in a relevant field of study from any recognized University with ana average score of 60% above or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0 out of 5 point scale.
