Appendix is the final page where you list additional information as backup to the actual research project. This section contains relevant materials that might be too large or detailed to have been included in your main body of research, it is a support to contents and data in your research papers. It is a part of your research project where readers can revert to whenever they want to know how you arrived at a given figure, assertion or opinion.

Simply put, an appendix is a section where attachments to an actual research project are placed, listed or included.

Format of Appendix

It must come after the reference list

It must be placed in a fresh page

It must have a heading e.g., Appendix A, Appendix 1

It must have title e.g., Questionnaire, Tabulations of test of hypotheses, pictorial etc.

Also include the source(s) of the diagram, photograph etc., you attached.

Note: The relevance of appendix in a research paper cannot be over emphasized. This is an important section that your external supervisor would examine before scoring you. It is as important as other sections of your project or thesis.
